Founded in 1994, Windstar Technologies, Inc. develops, markets, and supports intelligent software solutions for international tax and immigration compliance that deal with the complex bodies of international law and procedures. With over 400 clients and 1,000 installations, Windstar® Solutions has become the standard for international tax and immigration compliance.

Windstar offers IRS compliance solutions with International Tax Navigator®, including web-based data collection and forms delivery system, 1042-S processing system, superior client support including web-based training, windstarusers listserv, and a client only resource library.

For immigration compliance solutions, VisaManager®, which is compliant with SEVIS requirements, creates completed immigration forms and reports for foreign national students and exchange visitors. VisaManager can interface with International Tax Navigator to provide immigration data used for tax analyses.

Over the past several years Windstar has partnered with Enterprise Resource Providers (ERPs) to develop interfaces between paying systems and International Tax Navigator to provide Windstar clients with automated two-way information flow. Current alliances include Oracle | PeopleSoft, SunGard Higher Education, Datatel, and High Line.

Windstar offers accredited 3-day nonresident alien tax training sessions three times a year to provide attendees with the latest information on nonresident alien IRS tax compliance. The training includes topics related to immigration and social security rules, new tax treaties and social security agreements, and special withholding rules and strategies for tax submission together with explanations of new and existing IRS forms and procedures.

In 2000, Windstar launched Windstar Publishing, Inc. to provide easy-to-understand tax guidebooks to educate taxpayers, employers, and payers. Current series include the U.S. Tax Guides for Foreign Persons & Those Who Pay Them and Cross-Winds, a new series of books about cross-border compliance issues.
