Paula N. Singer
A nationally recognized international tax attorney and partner in the law firm Vacovec, Mayotte and Singer LLP, in Newton, Massachusetts, Paula’s practice has concentrated in international tax matters for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates. She has provided individuals and organizations with tax planning as well as compliance services for individuals relocating internationally since 1978.
Paula is a member of the bars of Massachusetts and Maine and is a
long-standing member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
(AILA), the American, Massachusetts, and Boston Bar Associations. Paula
is a frequent speaker and
author of over
60 published articles and is the author of numerous tax
guide books.
Paula was a panelist with IRS International Issues Specialist, Lowell Hancock and Lucy Key Price, President of the American Payroll Association on “US Tax Withholding Issues in the Global Business Economy,” TaxTalkToday.tv, Dec 2002. The IRS has used her
tax guidebooks to train their personnel. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Maine (Orono) and received her JD from the University of Maine School of Law.
Linda Dodd-Major
Linda Dodd-Major is an immigration attorney and former Director of INS’ Business Liaison Office, who answers immigration related questions posted to the Windstarusers listserv. Linda’s expertise is invaluable for clients grappling with the problems encountered because of immigration procedural requirements including the implementation of the Student and Exchange Visitor Immigration System (SEVIS), the reorganization of the US government agencies responsible for immigration matters, and the immigration climate in general.
Linda is nationally known as creator and director of INS’ Office
of Business Liaison, where she developed public information to raise awareness
and understanding of laws prohibiting illegal employment and obtaining
international services in the U.S.
A popular national and international lecturer, Linda focuses on key interrelationships among the overlapping, intersecting, and interdependent jurisdictions of many U.S. government and other entities. She holds advanced degrees in law and international business from Rutgers and Georgetown Universities.
Terri Crowl
In March 2007, Terri joined the Windstar staff as Senior Product Support
Analyst responsible for assisting clients with the Tax Navigator product including treaty analysis,
processing procedures, system function analysis, and product and tax
issues training. Terri worked for Windstar prior to 2007, assisting
at our training sessions and providing support to Tax Navigator clients. She
is also a frequent contributor to the Windstarusers listserv.
Terri most recently served as the International Tax Coordinator at George
Mason University in Fairfax, VA, where she oversaw all payments made
by the University to nonimmigrants and ensured proper tax reporting and
withholding. She also provided tax preparation workshops for Mason’s
nonresident alien population. Terri has been working in the field
of nonresident alien taxation since the early 1990s and in international
education since 1989.
In addition to Mason and Windstar’s training sessions, she has
presented various NRA-focused sessions at St. Norbert College’s
International Tax Summit, the Region VIII NAFSA conference, and Virginia’s
Fiscal Officers of Colleges and Universities – State Supported
(FOCUS). Terri graduated cum laude from Middlebury (VT) College
with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and is a member of Phi Beta
Delta International Honor Society, as well as an institutional member
of NACUBO through George Mason University. |
